Werner Goricki, Member of the Board of Directors and CIO of Prime Capital, receives A-rating from Citywire

30/01/2020

Frankfurt, 29th January 2020

For the first time, Prime Capital’s Gateway Target Beta UCITS Fund has been awarded an A manager rating by Citywire. It is the first UCITS absolute return fund launched by Prime Capital AG, a Frankfurt-based asset management company. Since the fund’s launch in September 2015, the quantitative investment team led by Werner Goricki has delivered first-class performance based on a successful absolute return strategy. The fund manager rating is based on Citywire’s absolute return methodology. Its ratings are awarded for a risk-adjusted outperformance and are linked to the fulfilment of certain risk and volatility criteria. Prime Capital is among the top 10% of fund management companies in Citywire’s alternative UCITS – multi strategy category.

“We are very excited about this award for Werner Goricki and the entire portfolio management team. For Prime Capital, the UCITS mutual fund business is still relatively new, but we expect to see rapid growth in this area in the coming years. The rating confirms that we have found an attractive solution in the absolute return segment,” says Andreas Kalusche, CEO of Prime Capital AG.

The fund’s strategy consists of two components: On the one hand, it allocates funds to global equity and credit markets (growth strategy), with a special focus on risk management. And on the other, it relies on a systematic, tactical and flexible approach for investing in stocks, credit markets, interest rates and currencies. The fund’s target return is 5%, with an average target volatility of 6% and an expected equity beta of 0.3 on average.

The fund’s asset management approach is particularly well-suited as a basic component for portfolios, and as a cost-effective way of diversifying existing portfolios.
