Frankfurt, 03. May 2018
At the end of April, Prime Capital once again received an award at the European Hedge Fund Performance Awards 2018 of HFM Week in London for the performance of PCAM Blue Chip Ltd. (“PCAM Blue Chip”). Having already received four HFM awards in the last six years, the investment team was again delighted to win the category “Fund of hedge funds long-term performance (5 years) over $500m” this year. Since its launch in October 2007 the fund has realized an annualized return of 6.96% with an annualized volatility of 4.82% (Sharpe Ratio 1.24).
Dr. Werner Goricki, CIO, commented: “PCAM Blue Chip has beaten the benchmark index in every calendar year since its launch in October 2007. This impresses not only a steadily growing number of investors, but also the trade press, which has awarded the fund more than 20 awards over the past few years”.
“We are delighted with the jury’s decision and see it as recognition of the fact that our performance is also perceived internationally. It is also a confirmation for our investors, who trust the expertise of an excellent team,” says Andreas Kalusche, board member and head of Client Solutions at Prime Capital AG.
Due to increased investor interest, the fund’s volume has more than tripled within the last three years. This had the effect that the brisk demand from investors cannot currently be fully satisfied due to mostly temporary capacity restrictions. “We have taken this as an opportunity to start preparing for the launch of a successor product, which will use the proven investment and portfolio construction processes but, unlike PCAM Blue Chip, will allocate up to 25% of its portfolio to medium-sized target funds. The fund of funds will be based in Luxembourg. We expect the fund to launch in the middle of the year,” explains Andreas Kalusche.
