Prime Capital Fund PCAM Blue Chip once again awarded twice as “best-in-class” Fund of Hedge Funds

November 08, 2017

Frankfurt, 08 November 2017

Prime Capital AG received two awards at the 11th “BANCO Swiss Hedge Funds Awards 2017”, of the leading Swiss asset management publication “Banco”, following up on the previous year’s success.

With the nomination of the PCAM Blue Chip Ltd. in the “Fund of Hedge Funds – MultiStrategy No Bias” category, the fund was in a competitive environment. Due to its positive performance over a period of three and five years, the fund was able to advance to the final round in two of the four sub-disciplines.

At the end of the quantitative and qualitative analysis by the expert jury, PCAM Blue Chip Ltd. succeeded in winning both the “Fund of Hedge Funds – MultiStrategy No Bias” award for performance over three years and the award for five-year performance.

“We are delighted with the jury’s decision and see it as recognition that our performance is also perceived internationally. It is a confirmation for our investors who trust the expertise of an excellent team,” says Andreas Kalusche, board member and Head of the Client Solutions Team at Prime Capital AG.

In addition to the fund’s impressive performance, particular attention was paid to its cost structure. Since its inception, institutional investors have been offered a share class with 0.5% p.a. management fee and no performance fee, as well as an additional share class with only a 10% performance fee.

After the fund’s volume has almost trebled in the last three years due to increased investor interest, the brisk demand on the part of investors cannot be fully satisfied at present due to mostly temporary capacity restrictions,” says Andreas Kalusche.

“We have taken this as an opportunity to start preparing for the launch of a successor product, which draws on the proven investment and portfolio construction processes, but will allocate in addition to the investment universe known from PCAM Blue Chip, up to 25% of its funds to smaller target funds. The fund of funds will be based in Luxembourg or Ireland,” explains Dr. Werner Goricki, board member and CIO.
